Pint Chug
In this event, each must choose an individual “Pint Chug” specialist to be timed consuming exactly 16 fluid ounces of beer.
The game commences when the World Beer Games official starting light reaches green. The WBG official timing device will measure the elapsed time between the green light and the empty pint glass being placed bottom down on the timing platform.
The following rules apply to the Pint Chug:
A. Official glass is 18 fluid ounces.
B. Official amount of beer in each glass is 16 fluid ounces.
C. Each pint glass must start and end bottom down within the timing platform.
D. All participants must be standing with both feet on floor (unless contestant is handicapped) .
E. All participants must start with lifting hand near but not touching the glass.
F. Non-lifting hand must be placed behind back.
G. Athletes may position their face and hands as close to the glass and timing platform as they wish – provided no part of their body makes contact with the glass or timing platform prior to the start.
H. Timing begins when starting light reaches green.
I. Athletes who lift pint glass from platform before green light will be charged with a false start.
J. Each athlete is allowed one false start.
K. Athletes with two false starts are disqualified from the heat.
L. Players must empty entire contents of pint glass before placing it back on the platform.
M. The limited spill rule is in effect. Loss of liquid from the glass, which delivers an excessive amount of spillage onto the participant, will result in disqualification by the referee. This will be at the discretion of the referee and judging committee.
N. Timing stops when the glass is placed down on timing platform.
O. There is a Residual Liquid Allowance of ¼ of an ounce, as denoted by line on bottom of official glass. If any liquid remains above the line the contestant is disqualified.
